were all present and there was a fair attendance of saints f FORENOON prea pros thomas P cottam was the first speaker at this session he kave gave those in attendance a hearty welcome he spoke on the bounteous harvest this year and on oil the duties of the saints he made remarks in the interest of the stake academy now in course of erection commending those who bad had done so well towards its erections erection but he be felt that there were many who wele able to help who had bad not done much yet and he hoped they would come to the rescue in this noble enterprise he made a report of the expenditures on the building to date show mg ing 20 expended of which st V george had paid 42 and the rest of the stake the remainder being paid by the church elder george F jams jarvis reported the high priests quorum and 4 made remarks along lines of the spiritual welfare of the human family and gave reference to thia this subject elder james andrus said he felt grateful for a home in dixie he be felt that there was a great future for this section of the country he ile gave the saints some advice and spoke along temporal line commended pros pres cottam for the good work done on the stake academy building and felt that all should come to the rescue of those in charge of this work elder john T woodbury expressed his pleasure in meeting with the saints in conference and indorsed endorsed indor sed the remarks of the preceding speakers he spoke of the opportunities of doing missionary work at home and how bow the saints should itne to take tale advantage of these opportunities said each one is responsible for his own actions and should al ways be engaged in doing a good work i s pres george F whitehead made some remarks an svea speaking lingin in public and the necessity for sunday school board supt bupt geo goo E miles taking charge elder wm 0 bentley bentleyjr jr spoke in relation to sunday school work made special mention of the patents class and the good it is doing bisters sisters mettle mettie carter hazel bell fley josephine snow and ethel jarvis gae gao interesting talks to the children elders george E miles henry T atkin and jacob L workman of the hurricane ward made remarks pres edward H snow spoke to the children about the word of wisdom and told the boys not to use tobacco cOi nor drink wine nor use profanity and gave good counsel in general SUNDAY
