Show Red Cross Holds Meeting In Ranger's Cottage At Zion National Park Officers of the Washington county chapter of the American Red Cross held their November 9th meeting at the ranger's cottage in Zion National Park, with Mrs. Paul R. Franke, chairman of the Zion Cayon branch as hostess. The Zion Canyon branch includes the people of Rockville, Spring-dale Spring-dale and the Park and county chairman Roxey S. Romney reports re-ports these women are doing wonderful work. Already they have turned in many completed items and they have many projects proj-ects under way. Along with reports from that area, announcement was made of the appointment of Mrs. W. W. McArthur as staff assistant, and of Wesley A. Nelson as chairman of home service, replacing Attorney At-torney Andrew Pace, who is absent ab-sent for the duration. Attention is called by Chairman Chair-man Romney to the great amount of Red Cross sewing on hand at the present time and reports that Mrs. Maurine Jones, chairman of 'his department is in need of many more helpers in order to complete the required sewing before be-fore Dec 1st. If women who can sist are unable to call at the Woodward high sewing room on Wednesday or Thursday, between five and six p. m., if they will lone Mrs. Jones or Mrs. Rom-"ey, Rom-"ey, the materials will be delivered de-livered to them with instructions. The Red Cross is urging that at least one person from every hme should take the primary rse in first aid to meet the Possible emergencies of accidents or of epidemics. These courses be given here during the winter by Coach Reed Blake, authorized au-thorized instructor. Also courses m nutrition are available and ople are urged to get into these Programs and become familiar lth the foods for health which are vailable in abundance in this But at this particular time Red Cross is calling for more |
