Show NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC We the undersigned officers of the County of Washington, and the Citv of St. George have and will continue to enforce the laws of the county and city, to the best of our ability, and we earnestly earn-estly ask the cooperation of the merchants, beer parlors and liquor store to refrain from selling to any minor, beer, liquor or tobacco" to-bacco" in any form. The State Law makes it a misdemeanor for anyone to sell, give or furnish cigarettes, cig-arettes, cigarette paper or wraper paper made or prepared for the purpose of making cigarettes or tobacco of any kind whatsoever, is guilty of a misdemeanor and shafl be punished by a fine of not more than $25.00 nor more than 5299.00 or by imprisonment not to exceed six months in the county jail or by both such fine and imprisonment. The law further states that no alcoholic beverages shall be sold or otherwise supplied to any person per-son under the age of 21 years, and any person who knowingly violates any of the provisions of Section 128 shall for the first offense of-fense be imprisoned for not less than one month nor more than three for a second or subsequent offense be imprisoned for not less than four months nor more than 12 months. Now, therefore, we likewise are asking the support and cooperation cooper-ation of the minors of this county and city to assist the local officers offi-cers in upholding the law. Please refrain from forcing our hand, as we mean tq. enforce the law and prosecute any minor having in his possession any of the above mentioned tobacco, liquors or beer. Signed: A. B. The Readers' Round Table met Saturday with Mrs. Vivian Milne, where Mrs. Irvin Milne reviewed W. L. White's grim story of war, "We We're Expendable". The club re-organized with Mrs. Ronald Ron-ald Cottam, president, and Mrs. Clinton Fuller, secretary. Mrs. Ted Simmons arrived last Saturday from Provo to visit several sev-eral days with her mother, Mrs. Vera Mitchell. |
