Show 1 'I Am An American Day' Proclamation by Mayor WHEREAS, the' Seventy-Sixth Congress has set aside the third Sunday in May of each year as citizenship recognition day; and WHEREAS, the ideals, traditions tradi-tions and privileges of American citizenship should be cherished, understood and revered by all; and WHEREAS, the duties, sacrifices sacri-fices and obligations imposed upon citizens should be understood under-stood by those who are citizens, who are striving to become citizens, citi-zens, and who may attain citizenship citizen-ship by attaining their majority, NOW, THEREFORE, I. D. C. WATSON, as Mayor of the .City of St. George City, Utah, do hereby declare Sunday, the 18th day of May, 1941, as "I AM AN AMERICAN DAY," and do call upon all religious, patriotic and civic organizations and the citizens generally of St. George City, to honor the purpose of this day by giving thought, study and consideration to the advantages of American citizenship and the duties owed to America, by being an American Citizen.
