Show LaVERKIN Pansy L. Hardy Reporter Melba Booth is home from Los Angeles visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Woodbury, Melba has joined the WAAC's and expects ex-pects to do her part in defense of our country. Cyrus Gifford and daughter, Angie, were week end visitors in LaVerkin. Reed Wilson and Verl Dalley were speakers at our Sacrament meeting Monday evening at the home of Bishop Lorin D. Squire. The Primary officers held their monthly preparation meeting at the home of Ruth Neilson. Plans for a Valentine party and Primary conference were discussed. Refreshments Re-freshments were served by Mrs. Neilson. Due to financial shortage the children's clinic has been postponed post-poned until March. A poultry school, sponsored by the U. S. government, is to be held each Wednesday evening at Sanders Bros., turkey hatchery. These classes are free to all who wish to attend and offer a real opportunity at this time, when more poultry should be raised to offset other meat shortages. The course will run for ten weeks. The Relief Society lesson on the "Declaration o f Independence", was given Tuesday by leader Ruby Webb, with help from Camilla Judd, Vilate Hardy and Pansy Hardy. The Southern Utah Power company com-pany ditch broke last week and local men have been busy repairing repair-ing it. j Mrs. John A. Judd received word that her sister's home in Salt Lake City was completely destroyed by fire recently. Mrs. Moroni Sanders spent part of last week in Cedar City. Mrs. Mary A. Gubler was a business visitor in St. George on Tuesday. Mrs. Arthur Woodbury has returned re-turned from California, where she has been visiting. j |
