Clair Stirling, arrived from Salt Lake City to take his wife and baby daughter to Provo to make their home for the winter. Before going to Provo, Mr. and Mrs. Stirling and daughter will visit in Hurricane with her parents. Mrs. Cleo Pectol was hostess to the Easy Aces Wednesday evening eve-ning at her home. Prizes were won by Mrs. Leila Empey, Mrs. Theda Sutton and Mrs. Cleo Nelson. Nel-son. Mr. and Mrs. John J. Wadsworth Wads-worth left Thursday morning for Salt Lake City. They plan to return re-turn Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Reber and son, Bobby, left Monday for a two-weeks' trip through the Pacific Pa-cific Northwest. They planned to go from here to Salt Lake City, then on through Yellowstone Park, across to the Grand Coulee dam, on to the Coast and then up to Seattle and perhaps into Canada. Nation Wide sheets were last Thursday afternoon's gift from the Hostess Sewing Circle to Mrs. Duke Sutton, who was hostess at her home. Miss Violet Schmutz, injured last July in a highway accident was able to return to her home in Washington, Sept. 26, from the local hopsital. Mrs. Sylvia Roper was called to Camp San Luis Obispo Saturday due to the illness of her son, Arthur, who is stationed there. Walter Cobb, Keith McArthur, Chester McAllister and Roy Kurt, who have been visiting their respective res-pective families for the past ten days, returned Wednesday to San Luis Obispo. . Mrs. Don Carlos Schmutz of Sarita Monica, Calif., arrived Wednesday Wed-nesday evening to spend several days at the home of her parents, Mr and Mrs. Walter Cannon. Mrs. Henrietta Williams of Salt Lake City is the guest at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Weibel. jjjg jft Corporal Robert Brooks, son of Postmaster and Mrs. William Brooks and Sergeant Evan Pickett Pick-ett son of Attorney and Mrs. E. J. Pickett returned to San Luis Obispo early Monday evening, after a two-weeks' furlough in St. George. Mr and Mrs. Walter Brooks and baby boy returned to Hurricane Hurri-cane Sunday evening. Ernest Pulsipher, who spent the week-end home with his mother Mrs William Brooks, took the Monday evening bus back to Boulder Boul-der City, to his employment. Mr and Mrs. George Jarvis and daughter of Mesa, Anz. visited vis-ited relatives in St. George Wednesday Wed-nesday on their way to Salt Lake City to attend the L. D. S. confer-ence. Mr. and Mrs. Arden Sampson and son, of Las Vegas, visited friends in St. George Sunday evening eve-ning on their return from Hurricane, Hurri-cane, where Mrs. Sampson has spent the past week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hyrum Bradshaw, visiting and canning fruit. Mrs. Arthur Cottam returned Saturday evening from Las Vegas, where she has been visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Laurel Abbott for ; two weeks. Mrs. Glenn Quigley will leave this week-end for Kamas, Utah, where her husband has been transferred trans-ferred recently in the Department of Forestry. She has been visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Milton Burgess, for the past two weeks. Mrs. Lothair Mangum of Spring-ville, Spring-ville, and Mrs. Dean Allred of Ogden motored to St. George Saturday Sat-urday to hring their brother, Howard Carter, who has just re turned from the north central states mission, over the week-end. They returned Tuesday, Howard to attend conference in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. William Cook of Las Vegas and Mrs. William Chamberlain and baby boy of Delta, were guests Sunday night and Monday of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Huntsman. The Cooks are returning from a business trip to Delta and Mrs. Chamberlain will visit her husband, who is located at Las Vegas with the Union Pacific Pa-cific train service as firemen. William H. Prince returned to Salt Lake City Sunday evening after attending conference in St. George. Wednesday's newspapers announced an-nounced the death of Mrs. Emily Traub Merrill, wife of Apostle Joseph F. Merrill, who attended conference officially in St. George over Saturday and Sunday. Mrs. Merrill, aged 62, died at 5 p. m., Monday at her home in Salt Lake City of a heart attack after a prolonged illness. Mr. and Mrs. Howard H. Starr returned Sunday evening from their honeymoon to Pasadena and other points in California. The Fun Dance of the Year, October 16 Recreation Hall Firemen's Ball. o2c. Dr. J. E. Ahlstrom returned late Wednesday from a brief vacation with his wife, Dr. Fae Ahlstrom, in Los Angeles. Mrs. Kate Gardner of Cedar City visited in St. George from Friday to Wednesday with Mrs. Minnie S. Ahlstrom. The Readers Round Table held their Saturday session at the home of Mrs. Irvin Milne with nine members and two guests attending, at-tending, the latter being Mrs. Howard Arns and Mrs. Alice W. Milne. Mrs. Merrill Stucki reviewed re-viewed the book, "Embezzled Heaven", Hea-ven", by Franz Wensel, after which refreshments were served. Mrs. Laurine Langford of Cedar City is the house guest since last Thursday evening of Mr. and Mrs. M. B. Langford. Mrs. Chester A. Kemp left last Friday morning for Salt Lake City to visit relatives and receive re-ceive medical care. |
