Tho purposo of tho drain Is to drain tho water from tho prcsenf city woll nnd run It down into tho tho sottllng tank and thus do away with tho cost of pumping tho water up from tho well and then I down to tho sottllng tank. Tho now drain will cost tho City l,C0O, but thoro will bo a groat sov-( lng over tho old system and ought to( furnish' moro drinking water and a hotter forco. I It Is estimated that about six weeks tlmo will bo consumed In tho build. In of the drain.
