Show Postmaster and Mrs. William Brooks left last Friday evening for Los Angeles to visit and on business. While there Mrs. Brooks will attend the August meeting of the Huntington Library, with which she is connected as field representative. Miss Lillian Riding left last week for Taft, Calif., where she will spend her vacation with Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Hoff and other relatives. J. Lamar Bleak and small daughter, Barbara, returned last Friday to Pico, Calif., after visiting visit-ing in St. George for a week with his mother, Mrs. Alice B. Bleak, his sisters, Mrs. Kate B. Empey and Mrs. Joseph "Riding and other relatives. Mrs. Merle Bostwick and small son returned recently from spending spend-ing a month in Santa Barbara with relatives. Miss Tillie Winsor returned Tuesday evening from visiting in Boise, Ida., with her sister and brother-inlaw, Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Anderson, and in Provo with Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Dalton. Mrs. Andrew Barnum returned Wednesday forenoon from Camp Roberts, Calif., where she has been visiting the past three weeks with her husband, who is stationed sta-tioned there in the personnel department de-partment of the U. S. Army. Mrs. Marvin Jenkins and baby arrived Tuesday from Salt Lake City to visit her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Andrus and other relatives. They returned recently from spending the summer in Canada with Mr. Jenkins, who is stationed. there as an arlines pilot. He hopes to visit them here before be-fore they return to their home in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Esplin and son, Darlo, left for Los Angeles Wednesday evening where they will get medical treatment for their son. Mrs. Carl W. Sorensen and daughter, Cleo Fay, arrived Tuesday Tues-day from Salt Lake City to visit with her mother, Mrs. Geneva Rogers. They returned to Salt Lake City recently from Miami, Fla., where they have spent the past year with Lieut. Sorensen, who is located there with the Navy personnel. This is their first visit in St. George for more than two years. J. L. Wadsworth returned late Wednesday from Panaca, where he has spent the past two days on business. Mrs. Wadsworth and their daughter, Jane, remained at the 77 ranch. Mrs. Wesley Nelson and daughter, daugh-ter, Karlene, are in Los Angeles on a buying trip for Snow's Dress Shop. They were also accompanied accom-panied by Mrs. Wayne Whitehead. Grant Brooks, Sl'c is here on leave from Boulder City, Colo., where he has spent the past several sev-eral months in training.
