Show Public Invited To Attend Sports Program Fast Game On Tap For July 4th When CCC Team Meets Legion Juniors Many more people can be efficiently ef-ficiently served in the Free recreation rec-reation program being given weekly at the St. George ball park Monday over Friday evenings, even-ings, states Coach Reed Blake in charge of this program under sponsorship of the American Legion Le-gion and other organizations. The park is lighted nightly for these events which include soft ball games for girls of all ages from) 8 to 10 p. m. Monday and Thursday Thurs-day evenings and ball games for boys and men Wednesday and Friday evenings. These games are being found very interesting not only by the groups who have already lined up for participation, but also by the crowds who watch the games. However, the grandstand could accomodate many more, and the public is cordially welcomed to participate either as players or as onlookers, says Mr. Blake. Those who are attending are finding find-ing this a delightful way to throw off the cares of the day for a couple of hours, and a good panacea pan-acea for the blue thoughts that the present war conditions bring in spite of one's far-removal from actual war fronts. An especally interesting time is promised on Saturday, July Fourth Four-th at 6 p. m. when the hard ball teams of the Bridge Mountain CCC Camp will tangle with the Junior squad of the local American Ameri-can Legion. These two teams are in excellent training, say those who have watched their practices, and this coming game is being hailed as one of the highlights high-lights of the day's program of sports. To those who have not attended attend-ed one of these evenings of fun and recreation Coach Blake and sponsors are urging that they come out once and see what is being done, or help with what is being done. The young people who participate in the games will welcome the side line cheering and the cooperation makes the program grow and accomplish its intended purpose. |
