Show Catalogue of Dixie Jr. College Issued; Has New Features New Courses Offered; Changes In Faculty; Seminary and Institute Established TH catalogue of the Dixie junior college is off the press this week. The new four-year junior college plan is featured and explained. It consists of sixty-eight pages and is printed by the Washington County News. It is quite different from the catalogue cat-alogue of last year, due to the changed organization. "A number of new courses are offered", said Pres. B. Glen Smith, "in both the upper and lower divisions, but the standard stand-ard courses of previous years tion will be featured this year more than last. Three new courses in agriculture are poultry production, principles of agronomy, agron-omy, and agricultural economics. Auto mechanics will be available avail-able to all boys interested this year. A fourth year course in Smith-Hughes agriculture and shop is added. "New art work includes outdoor out-door sketching in various media, graphic representation and commercial com-mercial art. A new course in biology is the history of biological biologi-cal science. The work in secretarial secre-tarial practice has been extended, and courses in business law and business principles have been added add-ed A course in noetrv has been added to the English work, and Spanish will be made available to upper division students. They are Lenore Thurston, who has become a bride; Morris Snell, who has accepted a position at the Brigham Young University; and Jay Beck, who has accepted a position In California. Hafen, three weeks spent in Old Mexico studying Spanish culture; H. L. , Reid ranger-naturalist at Zion National Park; M. M. Bentley, student at B. Y. U. summer school; Linna Snow, student at University of Utah; D. Eldon Beck, excursions in the interest Of biological research, including the adding of collections to the Dixie department; P. D. Spilsbury, Spils-bury, summer conference for vocational vo-cational supervisors at Utah State Agricultural college; Ellis Everett, Ever-ett, student at University of Southern California; Emma Nielsen, Niel-sen, student at Oregon State college, President Smith said. Of last year's teachers two will spend full time at the junior jun-ior high school. They are H. Val Hafen and Arthur Paxman. Several Sev-eral teachers will spend part time at the junior high. Instructors appointed for the institute seminary are Roy A. West and J. Ralph Wilkins.
