Show Credit Union Formed By Local Citizens Last Saturday The Dixie Cooperative Federal Credit union was organized last Saturday evening, August 21, in the Dixie college under the direction direc-tion of Don C. Candland of Washington, Wash-ington, D. C. assisted by John Nordmark of Philadelphia. The credit union is reported as a thrift organization on the self-help self-help order. Its primary object is to encourage regular and systematic syste-matic savings deposits by its members mem-bers who may also obtain loans for provident and productive needs. It does not enter the field of executive and investment finance, hence, say its backers, does not compete with the banks nor invade in-vade their field of operations. Those who were elected as directors direc-tors of the union are as follows: John T. Woodbury Jr., president; Claire Terry, treasurer-manager; John H. Schmutz, Arthur Paxman, Phil Foremaster, W. A. Whitehead White-head and Mrs. W. C. Cox. |
