An "Old Time Dance" was held at the Legion Open Air Pavillion, Wednesday, August 18, at which many of our young people as we'll as "Old Timers" enjoyed themi 'selves immensely. Mrs. Lulu Thorley and family of Cedar City have been visiting for the past few days at her parent's home. Mr. and Mrs. Marion F. Stout. Miss Edith Johnson is visiting at San Jose, California, with her sister, sis-ter, Mrs. Annie Nunis. According to the announcement made by Mr. La-Vor Hinton, manager of Hurricane's cooperative coopera-tive association, their w building has been completed and is now ready for use. Mr. and Mrs. Dean Clark and family, and Miss La Veil Slack are on a business trip and vacation to California. Mrs. Verio Ely of Las Vegas, Nevada was visiting with her mother, Mrs. Mae Petty, for the past few da vs. Keith Hall, son of Mr. and Mrs. La Fayette Hall, is at the L.D.S. Hospital in Salt Lake City, where he has recently had an operation on his leg which has been injured for a number of years. A piece of bone was removed below the affected af-fected part of his leg and later placed in another part, with the hope of correcting the affected part. His condition is normal at present. Mrs. June Nichols of Lovell, Wyoming is visiting for a few days with her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Jepson. Miss Phyllis Gibson has returned return-ed from Salt Lake City, where she has been visiting with her sister, Laurel. Miss Pearl Hafen of Santa Clara is a guest at the Keith Tobler home. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Stalks ( formerly for-merly Glenna Stratton) were visiting visit-ing here for a short time with her parents. Mr. La Vor Hinton, while at Salt Lake City last week on a business trip, attended the wedding wed-ding reception, given in honor of Mrs. John Van Cott, formerly, Miss Emily Schoenhals, teacher for the past three years at the Hurricane High School. The marriage mar-riage occured last Thursday, August Aug-ust 12, at the Salt Lake Temple. |
