Show Dixie Junior High Students Assist In Improving School Walks The Dixie junior high school grounds are being greatly improved improv-ed under the direction of Arthur Paxman and Principal Newell R. Frei. The money for the walks was raised by the junior high school, the boys haul the materials and do what work they can. The technical work is being paid for by the county. There are three six-foot walks on the west which run to the side walk. Unfortunately, states Principal Prin-cipal Frei, there is no cement walk on that side of the block as there is on the other three sides but it is hoped that one will be constructed soon to join these walks. On the east there are also three six-foot walks, one runs to the sidewalk just west of the library, li-brary, the other to the point where it will join the gravel road north of the recreation hall and the other goes around the north side of the building. Shubbery has been bought at a cost of S75, and is set out around the building, twenty-five young trees have also been set out. Lawns will be planted and it is the desire of those in charge, and the students, to place a fish pond and a drinking fountain on the north of the "building. Principal Frei has announced if pavement can be placed on the west side of the block, his students stu-dents will be glad to assist with the labor and the hauling of materials. |
