Show St. George Evens Series With One Point Victory Oyer La Verkin The St. George baseball team defeated the LaVerkin team 11-10 Sunday, and thereby kept their promise to break the jinx the LaVerkin La-Verkin boys seemed to have on them in the past. For the first six innings the contest was very onesided, one-sided, LaVerkin having only one run while the local boys added up 10. In the seventh inning the LaVerkin La-Verkin team started an enthusiastic enthusias-tic rally that brought in five runs. After a scoreless eighth inning, the LaVerkin uprising: continued for four more runs to tie the score. With excitement and blood-pressures mounting, In the last of the ninth with two men out and the bases loaded, Gene Gregerson was again "one the spot". He came through with a beautiful hit to bring in the winning run. Dick Lund pitched great ball for seven innings, when he was relieved by George Whipple. The team gave the pitchers nice support sup-port making some very good catches and outs. The boys were on their toes every minute of the game.
