Show Hurricane Public Library Nears Completion HURRICANE, Utah The Hurricane Hurri-cane public library nears competition compe-tition as the workers begin plaster plas-ter work on the lower floor. Beautification of the surrounding grounds has begun, also. Plans for the building, which is a WPA project, were made by Harvey Dalton and were approved by Leo Snow of St. George and work on the library began on December 8, 1938, with Mr. Dal-4. Dal-4. oir,rr a fViipf siinervisor and lull 1. foreman. With the exception of two skilled carpenters, Joseph Martinson of Ivins and George Campbell, the workers are local unskilled men. The colored stones used in the building were hewed out of the rock quarry at Berry Springs and transported to the job. Approximately Approxi-mately 20 men have been employed employ-ed daily in the construction work. |
