Blood has accepted an invitation to attend the bridge celebration here on October 15, stated Committee Chairman, Glenn L. Williams who returned from Salt Lake City a few days ago. According to Mr. Williams, Governor Gover-nor Blood expressed himself as anxious to see the longest one span bridge in the state. The bridge, which spans the Rio Virgin River between Hurri-can Hurri-can and LaVerkin, is 400 feet long and 180 feet above the river bed. It has taken 480 tons of structural stru-ctural steel to complete it. When the bridge is finished, 1960 bags of cement will have been poured, exclusive ex-clusive of the 80 yards of concrete that will comprise the concrete and steel deck. |
