Show "CffJlinpn f jjfWf,.,.j., VIRGIN Virgin, Oct. 20. we were honored by a short visit Saturday of Governor Charles R. Mabey and other members of the Republican ticket. A meeting was held at noon with Senator David Hirschi as chairman. Splendid talks were given by Governor Mabey, John E. Holden, candidate for state auditor, audi-tor, E. S. Woodruff, w-ho represented the State Auto association, Albert Mathis of New Harmony, candidate for state representative, and Senator David Hirschi. Quite a number from surrounding towns attended the meeting. A Republican rally was held here Saturday evening with Judge Thomas Thom-as Burton, Albert Mathis and Mr. Lunt as speakers. A dance followed and everyone enjoyed themselves immensely. im-mensely. Golden E. Webb went to Cedar City Sunday and returned with his mother, Mrs. Laura Webb and children, child-ren, who had just arrived from Salt Lake City and will spend the winter here. Mrs. J. S. Standlee is here from California to spend some time with her husband, who is working on his oil property. The visit of Elders John Batty and Stapley of Toquerville as home missionaries mis-sionaries Sunday was much appreciated. appreci-ated. Born, a daughter to Mr. and Mrs. Guy DeMill, of Rockville, Oct. 8; all concerned doing nicely. Mrs. Nettie Mulner of Cedar City is visiting at the home of her sister, Mrs. William Hopkins. Oscar Clauson of Ogden is here attending at-tending business. He is accompanied accompani-ed by his wife. J. W. Musser left for his home at Salt Lake City this morning. |
