Pickett returned Saturday from Salt Lake City, where they had been on business. Mr. and Mrs. Abel S. Riding and family of Salt Lake City are here visiting friends and relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Monroe Paxman, Mr. and Mrs. Eggertson and son, Paul, all of Provo, were visiting Friday at the home of Mr. Paxman's uncle, J. M. Moody of this city. The Stake Presidency, the High Council and the three Bishops and their wives enjoyed a swimming party at the Cascade swimming pool at Washington Wednesday night. The Misses Edith and Grace Miller entertained the primary and 2nd intermediate in-termediate classes of the West Ward Sunday School at their home last Thursday. A nice time was had. Moroni McArthur and sens Irvin and Eldon and Arthur Cottam and son Willie came in Saturday from the Mountain Meadows where they have been working the past month. Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Goff and Mr. and Mrs. Scott Goff of Bingham were visiting relatives here the fore part of the week. They are making a tour of southern Utali's scenic wonders. wond-ers. Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Snow left Wednesday for Salt Lake City to spend several days visiting. They were accompanied by Miss Marie Seegmiiier who will spend the winter there. Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Foster and daughter Miss Lyle left Sunday for Kanosh to spend a few days visiting. Mr. and Mrs. Foster will then go on to Salt Lake City to visit relatives and friends. Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Moody and daughter Virginia returned last week from Yellows-tone park and other northern parts where they have been visiting for about three weeks. Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Gardner, of Delta, returned re-turned with them. There is one Scholarship available in the Educational Department of the University of Utah for the coming school year, for Washington County. Students interested should file application appli-cation for consideration with the 'Washington County Board of Education Educa-tion immediately. Henry Lauret, Miss Lauret and their mother, who are heavily interested inter-ested in the Virgin Dome Oil field, left Friday for San Jose, Cal., after spending a few days here looking after their interests. Mr. and Mrs. Neils Sandberg and family, and Mr. and Mrs. Charles S. Woodward are here from Salt Lake City visiting friends and relatives.. From here they intend visiting southern Utah scenic points before returning home. Barney Richardson of Cedar City is a new employee at the St. George Cafe. Mrs. Hannah Pike left Friday for Los Angeles, Cal., after visiting here a few days. Mrs. Annie Condie returned Monday Mon-day from Hurricane where she spent a few days visiting. Hans Anderson and Arthur Hem-enway Hem-enway are building a new addition on the school house at New Harmony. Miss Lyle Foster returned Wednesday Wed-nesday from Kanosh where she spent a few days visiting relatives and friends. Lighting struck a transformer Sunday afternoon at the rear of the Prince Cafe, burning out the lights and starting a fire around the electric elec-tric stoves. Luckily no serious damage dam-age was done. Mrs. Ida Foremaster left Monday for Central to visit relatives and friends. Mrs. Frank Morse and son Sam spent the fore part of the week here from Grass valley. Len Conger and Angus Cannon and daughter Wilma left Tuesday for Enterprise to visit for several days. Mrs. Ida Foermaster of this city was pleasantly entertained at a birthday birth-day party ,at Stratton's ranch, near Central, Monday. A nice time was had. Mrs. Lyda Prince and family and Mrs. Mary Prince and family and Pratt Prince left this morning for New Harmony to spend a few days visiting. Mrs. A. D. McAllister and Mrs. Minerva Alldred of Manti were visiting visit-ing here Wednesday en route home from Kanab, where they attended the McAllister reunion. Editor and Mrs. Wallis and three members of their family returned Wednesday night from Fish Lake where they spent five days. That beautiful mountain resort is very popular, a large number of people being there. |
