Show LAW CHANGES IN RE-: PORTING OFACCIDENT Sheriff Brooks has received notice no-tice that there has been a change in the law In regard to the reporting re-porting of accidents. Heretofore such accidents have been required requir-ed to be reported to the police authorities in the local jurisdiction jurisdic-tion In which the accident ocenr-ed. ocenr-ed. I'nder the new law. which became effective June 2(ith of this year, such accidents must he reported not only to the local police authorities hut must be reported within twenty-four hours of such accident to the I'tah State Tax commission at Salt Lake City. A complete report re-port of all accidents must be j maintained by that office. The Information thus obtained to be used chiefly in compiling statistical statis-tical data so that proper steps may be taken to reduce the number num-ber of accident within the State. The new law provides that the driver of any vehicle involved in an accident resulting in death or injujries to any person or property pro-perty damage to an apparent extent ex-tent of $50 or more, file this report. re-port. However, peace officers are required to furnish supplemental information at any time when railed upon hy the office of the State Tax commission. |
