Show LA VERKIN Miss Melba Woodbury is now visiting with her parents, Mr. j and Mrs. Arthur Woodbury. She, has been working for several j years in Salt Lake City. Dill Sanders has been chosen, stake M. I. A. chorister. i For the last two weeks La-, Verkin has been in a continuous j rush picking, packing and load- ing peaches for trucks. Most ofi which are coining from the north. Some of the fruit buyers were: Smith Brokerage Co., Cowen and Stratton, Graff, Sam Holland and numerous others. There has been more call for Dixie fruit I this summer than there has been f for several years. We hope every summer will bring us just as good returns. Mr. and Mrs. Roland Crane and family of Salina were here Thursday visiting Mr. Crane's missionary companions, Wickley Gubler and Ervil Sanders. Mr. and Mrs. Gardner Hey wood were down from the mountain visiting with Mr. and Mirs. John Heywood on peach day. Loren Squires, state road policeman at St. George was here visiting his wife and children on peach day. Howard, Kimball and Iona Haslem of Cedar City are visiting visit-ing with friends here. Mr. and Mrs. Merril llryner of Helper are visitors of Mt. and Mrs. Moroni Sanders. LaVerkin ball team played a great game with St. George team Thursday at Hurricane. The score was 13 to 1 favor of LaVerkin. La-Verkin. Altho LaYerkin's conceit left them Friday after playing with the C. C. C. camp. They were beat by a point or two. Harold Bowers of Orderville has returned home after visiting with his sister, Mrs. Isaac Hardy a week or two. The following five delegates Wayne Wilson, Wllford Thompson, Thomp-son, Vernon Church, Henry Gubler Gub-ler and John Judd were sent to St. George Tuesday to represent our town ill organizing a Farm Bureau. |
