This report Is untrue. Mr. Terry has recently re-cently sent a sample of the water and the report received from Dr. Deatty was that the water was perfectly pure. Mrs. Ethel Simpkirks who has been visiting at Springville for Heveral weeks with her daughter, Mrs. tiuorge Nelson, has returned home. The .Sophomores, initiated the freshmen Friday morning furnishing furn-ishing a lot of fun and amusement for the onlooker and more humiliation hu-miliation and chagrin for the "poor llttlo Froshles." The girls were told Thursday by the "sophs" to come Friday dressed as cupids. The boys were to wear pajamas. Friday morning the girls appeared barefooted and as nearly like cupid as possible, the boys wore their pajamas. They were then taken Into assembly as-sembly and made to entertain in various ways. Most of the class were good sports and the squaw wrestling, horse-back riding and other stunts required at their hands were pulled off to even the "Soph's" satisfaction. The Freshies are breathing easier for they had been dreading this Initiation Init-iation program. Miss Rema Clove, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ivor Clove and Mr. LaMar Truman, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Truman, both of Enterprise were married in the St. George Temple, Wednesday, Wednes-day, September 19th. Wednesday night friends and relatives decided de-cided to charivari them. They did. They were late getting .i-rt(l -but -Jtt)ut midnight tne revel began. Such a noise as was made from then until about 3 o'clock a.m. is seldom heard. The bride and groom finally escaped and put an end to the fun. Friday night a dance was given in their honor in the Ward Hall. A large crowd attended and many beautiful presents were showered upon the young couple by a host of friends. Mr .and Mrs. Don Day of Enterprise, who have been working work-ing at the old Holt mine, have been transferred to the Conner mine near Sevier. The people around here are (spending a little leisure time in the hills picking up pine nuts. There seems to be plenty of nuts and the fever for picking them up is growing. Truck loads of young people are trying it. |
