Show PROGRAM FOR 21 SI COLLEGE OPENING SEE Registration September 14th; Instruction Begins Tuesday, With Devotionals and Party Par-ty on First Week's Program Complete details for the opening open-ing of the 21st school year at the Dixie College have been worked out, and everything is now in readiness for registration, Monday, Mon-day, September 14. Instruction will begin on Tuesday. Other events on the program of the first week are daily devotionals, devo-tionals, a student program Friday Fri-day morning, and a get acquainted acquaint-ed party in the open air pavilion Friday, evening. The dance is free to all students. This week the college issued a folder telling prospective students stu-dents of the advantages of attending at-tending college ,-and particularly Dixie college. The principal message was, "you can't afford not to come." It was pointed out that 87 per cent of the leading lead-ing men and women in the United Unit-ed States have attended college, and that Dixie college credit is accepted everywhere. The institution insti-tution is a charter member of the American association of junior colleges. Training is offered in liberal arts and sciences; education, satisfying sat-isfying state requirements to teach; basic sciences, for engineering engin-eering and medicine; and fine arts, music, dramatic art, fine art, and speech. An attempt was made1 to put over the thought that spiritual development is necessary to complete com-plete living, and that educational education-al training was available in Dixie at low cost and under pleasant environment. |
