Show CIVIC CLUBS TO MEET AT PRICE C. W. Love, Jr., Washington County director and vice-president of the Associated Civic clubs of Southern Utah, reports that the next meeting of this organization organi-zation will be held in Price, Utah on Saturday and Sunday, May 2 5 and 26. According to Mr. Love there are many important im-portant projects to come before the club at that time. The most important to this section of the state will deal with the advisability advisa-bility of uniting with Nevada in bringing in power from the Boulder Boul-der Dam or whether to attempt to creat this power on the Virgin River. Jt is the belief of those who understand the situation that the Civic clubs can do much to influence in-fluence these projects and it is their conviction that the problem must be given the utmost consideration. con-sideration. Nevada interests are especially interested in securing this power from Boulder Dam, however, it is thought that they would be willing to cooperate on the Virgin River proect. Another important problem to be presented, states Mr. Love, is the desire of the counties in fhe eastern and central parts of be state to form organization "imular to the Associated Civic oiuos. Directors of the present organization are opposing this on the grounds that one large group working in unity as has the Southern Utah group, can weild a great deal 'more influence than if they are split up Into smaller units. As a part of the club's advertising ad-vertising campaign the advertising advertis-ing committee, in cooperation with the Salt Lake Advertising olub, has arranged for Randall L. Jones to give a talk on Utah's scenic, recreation and industrial advantages, in Price on Friday, May 2 4. This meeting is .the first to be held in Carbon county for nearly three years, declares Mr. Love, and the directors are particularly par-ticularly anxious to have it well attended. Those attending are asked to make reservations with A. E. Gibson, secretary of the Price Chamber of Commerce. |
