Show Irish Have Made Record as American Citizens In their traditional love for their country of origin. Irishmen have found nothing Incompatible with good American citizenship. The man who does not retain a strong affection for die land of his birth is poor material for citizenship anywhere. If be forgets for-gets the lessons of his home country, lie will as easily prove faithless to the country in which he has sought the opportunity op-portunity which was not open to him , in his own. The man who is loyal to I older ties will be more likely to be ( loyal to the new, as soon as he un- derstnnds them and has assimilated them. The very large proportion of j American citizens who are of Irish birth or extra' lion are among the m. ist patriotic Americans and would justly r.-sent any suggestion of d;s loyalty to the Stars and Stripes.
