Show TO EXPLOIT SCENIC POINT Isaiah Cox of this city and Edward I Cox of Salt Lake returned Sunday from The Mount Logan section of J the Grand Canyon, where they had j been looking over the country, its roads, etc., with a view to its scenic 1 values for tourists. I They believe that good roads to this section would not cost a great deal and the scenery that would be opened up to travel is wonderful, approaching ap-proaching the sublime. The Toroweap section of the Grand Canyon lies in that section and here one may easily get to the inner gorge of the canyon and view the river like a small band of silver thousands of feet below the walls of the Canyon, beautifully colored, appearing to be perfectly perpendicular. The roaring roar-ing of the water, broken in its mad rush into waves from fifteen to twenty twen-ty feet high, is barely perceptable to one o n the brink so deep in the chasm. It is an awe inspiring sight and one, we believe, which would appeal ap-peal strongly to tourists if roads to it were opened up. The gentlemen are trying to interest inter-est capital in a movement to open up this wonderful section, and we hope they succeed. j |
