Show DIXIE PLACES SIX IN DISTRICT MEET L"' nine bys that Coach Lee Hafen took to the district meet at Filmore on last Tuesday, Tues-day, May 7, six ,w6re able to pace so that they may enter he state meet which will be hem m Salt Lake on Saturday Those who placed and the events in which they were entered en-tered were: Captain Lloyd Gub-ler, Gub-ler, 100 yard dash, javelin, re-ay; re-ay; Denby Wade, broad jump high jump, discus; Larkin Smith, mile, relay; Earl Tobler, mile relay; Marvel Leavitt, shot put relay; Jim Miles, relay Bob Painter, 100, 220, medley relay-Dean relay-Dean Gardner, broad Jump, medley; med-ley; Afton Knight, one-half mile medley. The surprise of the meet so far as Dixie was concerned was the way 'Smith came through to win the mile. This, was -without a doubt the best race that he has run. He set just the right pace to be able to come out on top. Wade was high man for Dixie and tied for first with a first in the discus and broad jump and a second in the high jump. Paul Snow, of Delta made a first in the pole value, shot put and second in the discus for the other oth-er high of the meet.
