Show PLEADS NOT GUILTY TO BURGLAR CHARGE Carl Johnsen pled not guilty to a second degree burglary charge when brought before Justice of the Peace Karl N. Snow for preliminary pre-liminary hearing. He was bound over to the January term of the district court under $2000 bonds. Johnsen, it is charged in the complaint, broke into the Whitehead White-head store early Sunday morning. Entrance was gained by breaking a panel from the side door. This was noted by Nightwatchman Bringhurst as he made his rounds and he called Marshal Cottam. As the officers entered the building the prowler left through the rear door. They gave chase, Cottam running run-ning to the front of the store, while Bringhurst attempted to head the man off in the alley at the rear. After a chase extending over half a block Cottam overtook Johnson John-son and overpowered him. In his possession were found a .32 Colt automatic pistol with a full magazine mag-azine and with one loaded shell jammed in the ejector, and a slingshot. |
