Show Franklin's Many Honors Benjamin Franklin was honored by many organizations for his ability and accomplishments in various lines of activity. The British Royal society so-ciety awarded him the Copley gold medal, and Louis XV sent him his appreciation ; both Harvard and Tale conferred on him honorary degrees of M. A. ; he was elected a fellow of the Royal Society of London ; the College of William and Mary in Virginia Vir-ginia made him a M. A. ; the Scottish Scot-tish university conferred a D. L. degree de-gree upon him; he was elected a member of the Philosophical society Edinburgh ; Oxford conferred the degree de-gree of D. C. L. ; he was elected president of the American Phllosonh-' ical society for life the Acadcuiy or Science of Padua, the Royal society of Paris, and the Medical society of London 'l V''ted him to membership. member-ship. - ;, |
