Show LEGION PUNS ARMISTICE OBSERVANCE Legionnaires, Schools and Civic Clubs to Join in Parade; Pa-rade; Auxiliary to Sponsor Program Tomorrow A. M. The observance of the 14th anniversary of the signing of the armistice which ended the world war will be conducted here Friday Fri-day under the direction of the Amreican Legion. At daybreak a salute will be fired by Ambrose Cannon and Clair Morris and at sunrise the schedule calls for raising the flag by George Thompson. A parade will begin at 9 a. m. at the tabernacle corner, with the Legion and Auxiliary, "Dixie College, Woodward school, the chamber of commerce and Rotary club participating. It is not expected ex-pected that floats will be entered. enter-ed. The following program will be given in the tabernacle at 10 o'clock under the direction of the American Legion Auxiliary. Singing, "America", accompany ied by band directed by E. J. Bleak. Prayer, Chaplain Mathew Bentley. Bent-ley. "Three Wonderful Letters from Home", sung by Dilworth Snow, pantomimed by Mrs. Isaac Hunt, Mrs. Rachel Judd, Corine Esplin and Bryan Lund. Address, Scott Matheson of 1 Cedar City. 1 Silent tribute to departed Legionnaires Le-gionnaires at 11 a. m. "Christ in Flanders' Field", Mayor John T. Woodbury, Jr. Oration by college student. "Hello Central, Give Me No Man's Land", American Legion Auxiliary trio pantomimed by Caroline Cottam. Band selection. Prayer by chaplain. No sports are planned for the afternoon and the day will close with a dance in the gymnasium. |
