Show , HARVESTER CO. OFFERS PRIZES TO 4-H CLUBS Record keeping among the 4-H club members of the nation is being stimulated by the International Inter-national Harvester company, which organization is offering alluring prizes for the best records re-cords kept from March 1, 193 4 to February 28, 1935, inclusive, D. P. Murray, state club leader, announces. Prizes will be given to the winner in each county, in each state, in each section of the United States; and a grand national na-tional prize will be awarded for the best record in the whole country. The western section, in which Utah is placed, is comprised of the states of Utah, Idaho, Arizona, Ari-zona, California, Colorado, Montana, Mon-tana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Ore-gon, Washington and Wyoming. Any bona fide 4-H club member, working under the supervision of the Extension Service during the club year of 193 4, is eligible to compete. Entries in the contest must submit a complete inventory of all farm possessions at both the beginning and end of the year; a record of working time spent and expense incurred in producing produc-ing each principal farm crop or other product; and a balance sheet showing how much money the farm made or lost during the year. Each record must be accompanied ac-companied by a story of not more than 600 words, telling of the value of record keeping. The records will be judged by the following score card: Complet-ness, Complet-ness, 50 points; acenracy, 25 points; story, 15 points; neatness, neat-ness, 10 points. |
