Show ft lit litS S 1 GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY Surrounded by family and friend Mr and Mrs Mn E H Peterson celebrate their Gold en Wedding Anniversary 1 Mr and Mrs E N ll Peterson Celebrate Golden Anniversary Surrounded by family and friends Mr and Mrs E H Peterson celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary Sunday A family dinner was given in their honor at the home of Mrs Maurine Freestone Eight of the nine children of Mr and Mrs Peterson attended this family dinner Mr and Mrs Don Walkers Walker's I home was scene an open house given in the hon hon hon- honor or of Mr and Mrs Peterson Mr Peterson w was s born in Upsala Sweden May 14 1882 lIe was eleven years old when he was given the chance to comE to America with two re- re returning returning turning missionaries This was a once in a life time opportunity and as the eldest son it was he who returned with the missionaries when the family decision was mode made The missionaries brought Mr terson to City lie Ill then made his home with a family in Salina Utah The part of the family that reo re- re remained in SWEden and Mr Peterson worked and saved and eleven years later his fa- fa father fa ther mother and two brothers came to America Fifty years ago in Salina Mr Peterson married Mary Alvey They made their home there for one year and 1913 moved to the Uintah Basin They have nine children Stan ley Peterson Riverside Calif Mrs E H Merle Kingsly Woodland Calif Dean Pet erson Helena Montana and Bob Peterson and Mrs Bm Bill Maxine McKee Salt Lake City Jay Peterson Mrs Tom Maurine Freestone and Mrs Don C Louise Walker Wallter of Vernal Very important in the lives of the people then were the flour mills nearest them This was Mr Petersons Peterson's He built and operated flour mills in three areas the first firstin firstin in Lake Fork area second in Duchesne area there most of their children were born and third in Roosevelt They have wonderful memo mem- orles ories of the Uintah Basin growing and expanding and striving to gain its goal They are proud of the part they have played in achieving this I goal During World War II Mr and Mrs Peterson and family moved to Salt Lake City where Peterson owned and operated an apartment house for two year The family then moved to Vernal Mr Peterson returned to his original and rebuilt a flour mill in Vernal to operate lie He served this area I several years with this mill Out of town guests were Mr and Mrs E II Kingsly Woodland Calif Mr and Mrs Dean Peterson Helena Mont Mr and Mrs Lynn Peterson Mr Bob PetErson and anel Mr and Mrs Bill McKee Salt Lake City Mrs Rose Ramsey and daughter Claudia Moroni Utah Mr and Mrs rd Pierce Orem Utah Mr and Mrs Lew Alvey and family Sigurd Utah Mr and Mrs Grant Johnson Orem and Mr and Mrs Rex Madsen Dutch John lie Ie I Mr and Mrs Al AI and family spent two days In Yellowstone National Park and touring the They also visited two days in Cas- Cas Casper Casper per Wyoming ming with Mr and Mrs Ted Mohr former real resi dents of Vernal Mr and Mrs Vern Carter Mona and Mrs Elms Elma Sperry and four children of Spanish Fork visited at the home of Mr and Mrs Morris Haws and Mr and Mrs Roy Kay last weekend While here they of of visited the many points interest in Vernal |
