Show Funeral for Zina Howard I Held fIeld Monday Funeral services for Mrs Zina Batty Searle Howard 72 mother of several Vernal prominent businessmen were held Monday at 11 am in inVernal inVernal I Vernal First Ward chapel Bishop Ben W Lindsay con ducted i Mrs Howard died Thursday day of last week at 11 am at ather ather her home after a long illness Prayer at the mortuary was offered by A Don Batty Prelude and postlude music was rendered by Mable Stagg and invocation was offered by Garth Batty One Sweetly Solemn Thought was sung by a vocal quartet consisting of Lois LoisI Erickson Roberta Ufford Don Walker and Dwayne I Case accompanied by Ruth Walker I First speaker was Harmon Hannon HarmonS S who gave ex excerpts i from the detailed 21 page history which Mrs How How- Howard ard had written about her family A vocal duet by Dorothy Luck and Daunt Daull Willard was The Old Rugged Cross ac companied by Rex Taylor Concluding speaker was Jesse Haws who told of Mrs How ards ard's great desire to live religiously The vocal quartet sang 0 My Father as the closing song and Paul Batty offered benediction Burial was in the Vernal Memorial Park Cemetery with dedication of the grave by Grande Pall bearers were her sons Ray Carl Jay Milton and Woodey Searle and a brother Don Batty Mrs Howard was born Jars Jan uary 15 1890 at Wallsburg Wasatch County a daughter of M M and Pamela Bigelow Batty Datty She married Raymond M Searle July 5 1907 in inVernal inVernal Vernal lIe died October 11 1923 She married William H Howard Jun June 4 1928 lie liedl dl died d February 2 1960 She is survived by five sons Raymond Carl Jay Woodey and Milton all of Vernal 27 grandchildren 14 great grandchildren Also four brothers and four sis Continued on page 8 F Funeral Continued from page 1 Ivan Daniel Don Paul Mrs Vilate Freestone Mrs Adora Freestone Mrs Belle Delle Perry nil all of Vernal and Mrs Cel Celeste of Provo Mrs Howard was an active member of the Church and was also a member of the Utopia Club She served as president of the Relief So- So Society So clety for several years and it was said that she shared with everyone who knew her Out of town visitors included ed Mr and Mrs Warren Diehl and sons Claude and Lawrence Miss Mary Green and sister Dora Mr and Mrs Jesse hews Mrs Lee Olson Mr and Mrs Ferrell Glines Mrs Catherine Galley all of Salt Lake City Mrs Vilate Pickup Clair Pickup Mrs Georgia Rae DIlls Bills Mr and Mrs Delton Batty Datty Mr and Mrs Grande all of Provo Mr and Mrs Bill DUl Hefley Rangely Rangel and Mr and I Mrs frs Dale Ross and family from Cortez Colorado |
