Show t I JJ Ii Grant Vest Resigns Position Will Study for Doctors Doctor Degree and Then Accept A Higher Rated Position H Grant Vest Uintah School District superintendent state senator and popular civic and religious worker has submitted his resignation to the Uintah School District Mrs Ruth P Haslem chairman of the school board announced Wednesday Stressing that he is not in anyway any anyway way dissatisfied with his post tion and that his action which was taken only after long deliberation was one of the most difficult which he has eves ever done Is s both he and his family are extremely reluctant to leave leav Vernal and their many friends friend Mr Vest requested that he be released in order that he might complete the study necessary for a Doctors Doctor's degree When he has secured his Doctors Doctor's degree he will accept another position that will offer him considerable chance for advancement in the educational field I Mrs Haslem in announcing r Vests Vest's resignation stated that the Board accepted it with reluctance inasmuch as they do donot donot not want to lose him However she continued board members feel that they should not stand in the way of his advancement and they wish him good luck In 10 all of his future undertakings Mr Vest said Mrs Haslem has rendered outstanding ser ser- service vice to the people of Uintah County Under his l s leadership the the administration have to close a class or school because of lack of teachers as did so many other school districts throughout the Nation No small part of these many accomplishments concluded Mrs Haslem is due to Mr Vests Vest's i ability as a competent and sym sym- W pathetic superintendent t Mr Vest who came to Vernal i in 1934 as principal of the Vernal Ver Ver- Vernal nal Seminary began his career as an educator in the Amen Ameri 1 can c Fork Seminary in 1933 He was appointed superintendent in ds dent de of o the If Uintah School Dis Dis- t Dist in 1942 Born at Salt Lake City he lived most of his early life at American Fork He graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bach Bach- Bachelor Bachelor elor of Science degree in 1933 and received his Masters Master's degree in 1938
