Show r t w 1975 UT UTEJ INDIAN TRI E Uintah and Ouray Indian Reservation Utah d tiAME M BIRD PROCLAMATION WHEREAS the Fish and Game Advisory Board of the Ute We Indian Tribe has made investigations and has received recommendations from members of the Tribe Federal Technicians Tribal Conservation Con Officers and nd other qualified persons and WHEREAS we have agreed among ourselves that the seasons for hunting of Waterfowl pheasants quail partridges doves sage grouse pine grouse turkeys and regulations to so hunt as set forth are in the best interest of conservation the public and tribal interest and welfare and will not be detrimental to the conservation observation of wildlife on the Uintah and O Ouray ray Indian Reservation NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED AND PROCLAIMED BY THE UTE INDIAN TRIBE FISH AND GAME ADVISORY BOARD that by virtue of authority vested in this Board by delegation from the Uintah and Ouray Tribal Business Committee under ordinance dated December 21 1971 No 71 01 approved by the Secretary of the Interior the following seasons rules and regulations for hunting and taking by the non-members non of the Ute Indian Tribe of waterfowl quail pheasants partridges sage grouse doves pine grouse turkeys on the tribal lands of the Ute Indian Tribe and lands of members thereof shall beas be beas as follows WATERFOWL Beginning at noon on October 4 1975 and continuing through January 4 1976 during the hours of one-half one hour before sunrise to sunset on all days during said open season excepting on opening day October 4 1975 when shooting hours shall be from noon to sunset and excepting November 1 1975 when shooting hours shall be from am a.m. to sunset with bag limits and species authorized to be taken shall be identical with the regulations adopted by the Utah State Wildlife Board Uintah Duchesne and Grand Counties subject to the procurement and possession of a Utah State License to so hunt waterfowl together with procurement and possession of a Federal Waterfowl Stamp State Goose tags for hunting of geese and subject also to the purchase of the Ute Tribal Game Bird hunting permit Other miscellaneous provisions applicable applicable applicable ap ap- ap- ap to hunting on Indian lands by non-Indians non as prescribed for non-Indian non lands by the Utah State Wildlife Board or Federal law lawshall lawshall lawshall shall apply to non-members non of the Ute Indian Tribe hunting on Indian lands Birds authorized to be taken hereby are not additional additional additional ad ad- birds to those authorized by the State on State lands AREA Indian lands in Uintah Duchesne Grand Counties except lands otherwise posted UPLAND GAME BIRDS I Closed to non members of the Ute Indian Tribe Pheasants November 1 through to November 9 1975 Quail November 1 through to November 9 1975 Dove September 1 through to September 30 1975 Duck October 4 through to January 4 1976 Geese October 11 through to December 14 1975 Uintah County November 14 through to December 14 1975 Sage Gi Grouse ouse September 20 through to September 26 1975 Turkey No open season Forest or Pine Grouse i i. i No open season Rabbit or Hare i. i season Area of Game Bird hunting during season above listed is reservation in Duchesne and Grand x- x known Creek Cree Creek Joe Hutch I Creek Cha Chandler Canyon and Florence Florenc Cr Creek ek in Grand Co County nty In ini ri Township 16 15 15 16 and 17 South Range 17 East Salt Lake Meridian and the Green River between Chandler Canyon and Florence Creek including including including in in- Hill lull Creek and Willow Creek beginning from Black Bridge South Shooting hours shall be restricted to daylight ho hours rs excepting during the pheasant season when shooting hours shall be identical with the shooting hours for wat waterfowl Bag and possession limits are identical with those adopted by the Utah State Wildlife Board for Duchesne Uintah and Grand Counties for 1975 and are not additional birds to those authorized by the State on State lands Permission to hunt on the Uintah and Ouray Indian Reservation lands is subject to the procurement and possession of a valid Utah State License to so hunt pheasants quail sage grouse doves pine grouse ducks and geese subject to the purchase and possession of a Ute Indian Tribe Game Bird Hunting Permit Other miscellaneous provisions applicable to hunting by non-Indians non as prescribed for non Indian lands by the Utah State Wildlife Board or by Federal Law shall apply to nonmembers nonmembers nonmembers non- non members of the Ute Indian Tribe hunting on Indian lands Hunting and fishing on the reservation by non-members non of the Ute Indian Tribe are regulated by the following Public Law 86 Congress H H. July 12 1960 as follows 1165 Hunting trapping or fishing on Indian land Whoever without lawful authority or permission willfully and knowingly goes upon any land that belongs to any Indian or Indian Tribe band or groups and either are held by the United States in trust or upon any lands to the United States that are reserved for Indian use for the purpose of hunting trapping or fishing thereon or for the removal of game peltries or fish shall be fined not more than or imprisoned not more more than ninety days or both and all game fish and peltries in his possession shall be forfeited LEE J.
