Show BINGHAM HIGH SCHOOL NEWS by Toni Stewart Program At VA Hospital The Junior Red Cross will sponsor a program at the Veteran's Veter-an's Hospital Friday t evening. Carole Dean Sanchez is 'in charge of the program with Miss Virginia Vir-ginia Harris helping with the dancing. MISS COPPERTONIAN Miss Coppertonian was crowned crown-ed at the Yearbook Carnival held last Monday night at the school. Winner of the contest was Miss Sharen Jean Anderson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Anderson of Bingham. Carole Dean Sanchez San-chez opened the sealed envelope containing the name of the winner win-ner of the coveted crown, and Dickie Susaeta, president of the Prospectors Club (who sponsored Sharen) placed the rhinestone tiara on her head. Delores Ag-uayo Ag-uayo presented the new queen with a bouquet of roses. Each of the contestants received a corsage. cor-sage. After the coronation of the queen, a trophy was awarded to the organization or class having the most original and best dec- orated booth. The winner was the Minerette booth and the newly crowned queen made the presentation of the trophy to Kathy Zampos, president of the club. Physical Education-Modern " Dance Exhibition Monday Let's not forget the Physical Education-Modern Dance exhibition exhi-bition to be presented at the school Monday night, Novembex 7th at 7:00 p.m. Miss Virginia Harris will be in charge. Admission Admis-sion is free, so everyone come and support the girls. Personality of Month Rose Kawa was elected "Miss October" or personality of the month. The voting was under the Girls Club with Miss Vern Baer as advisor. Last month, Kathy Zampos was chosen 'Miss September". Sep-tember". First Quarter Ends Friday marks the end of the first quarter of the school year. Report cards will be issued next week. Sophomore Class Party Sophomore class held their class party Wednesday noon and fifth period. They started off the party by having social dancing. Marie Lovat, Andy Trujillo and Connie Bianchi were in charge of the entertainment. The refreshments re-freshments were served by Dorothy Doro-thy Simkins, Eleanor Markovich and Sherrie Peterson. It was under the direction of the yearbook staff. Miners End Football Season With Win Bingham High Miners ended the 1955 grid season with a 48 to 6 victory over Grantsville, in a fame played at Copperton last riday afternoon. Joe Castillo led the scoring with a pair of touchdowns in the final period. In the scoring race the touchdowns touch-downs were scored in this order: Jerry Crellin, Ronnie. Boren, Tom Lovat, Mike Gonzales, Dick Susaeta Sus-aeta and then Castillo. The victory assured the Miners Min-ers third place in Region Two, behind North Summit and Wasatch. Was-atch. North Summit, region champ, was tied by the Miners for the only blot on its record. The Miners finished the season with five wins, one loss and one tie. j. - o |
