Show Water Study tudy of Uinta Basin Begins The U. U S. S Geological Survey has started start ed a general study of the water resources of the square square mile mlle Uintah Basin extending from Strawberry Reservoir to the Colorado State line and from the Book Cliffs to the Uinta Mountains ALL AVAILABLE ground water ground water data will willbe be obtained and analyzed and special special cial data will be obtained at many sites in the basin The study is Intended to describe the general availability availability avail avail- ability of water nd to provide interested parties arties with basic information on water throughout the basin Special emphasis will be placed on und understanding and describing the inter relationship of ground and surface wa wa- BECAUSE OF the size of the basin the tho study will be mostly by r reconnaissance sance lance methods In the developed areas such as those near Vernal and along the Duchesne River however a more detail detailed ed evaluation will be made mainly with reference to underground water THE STUDY is being made in Cooperation co Co- cooperation operation with the Utah Department of Natural Resources Division of Water Rights The reconnaissance in the southern south south- em ern n part of the basin will b be m made de b by byDon byDon Don Price North of the Duchesne River work will be under the direction of J JW JW J.
