Show Utah Symphony Jacqui Marshall thrill music lovers Symphony lovers from allover all allover allover over the Uintah Basin thrilled to the music of the Utah Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Maurice Abravanel musical director and conductor The orchestra played to a very receptive audience Tuesday of last week in the junior high auditorium HIGHLIGHT of the evening was Jacqueline Marshall as soloist in Concerto No 3 in C Major for Piano and Orchestra The year old Miss Marshall led the orchestra in a magnificent performance for which she received a standing ovation She was warmly congratulated by Mr Abravanel who presented her a gift and a bouquet of red roses During the evening orchestra enthusiasts enjoyed the Overture to The Abduction of the Seraglio by Mozart the moving melody of Mahlers Mahler's from Symphony No 5 in C Sharp Minor and the ardent strains of Brahms Symphony No 4 in E Minor For a finale the orchestra played the rousing Dances from Prince Igor by Borodin For two afternoon performances performances performances per per- the auditorium was filled with junior high elementary and high school stud students who enjoyed the symphony led by Ardean Watts associate conductor The delightful evening of music was sponsored by the They were assisted by bythe bythe bythe the Vernal Music Teachers' Teachers Association tion |
