Show Town Donales Blood For Injury Viciim Lark Raymond MeCarty Jr., 17, Lark, has the entire town for a friend. Ray, son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond MeCarty Sr., was critically injured in an automobile automo-bile accident just five weeks ago last Friday and until the last few days has been on the "ciitical" list at a Salt Lake hospital. Treatment of his injuries required re-quired 32 pints or four gallons of blood in transfusions. Mr. and Mrs. MeCarty were worried about replenishing the supplies used for the youth. However, their worries were for naught as they forgot about the close friendships that grow up in a town like Lark. The community com-munity has some 700 persons and they were joined by the students of Bingham high school, where Ray will be a senior next year. First it was Ray's schoolmates who donated blood. Then came the Lark Lions Club, and finally the community, as all rallied to help the plucky redhead. 'lhe Lions Club has for the past several years had the American Am-erican Retl Cross come to the community for blood drawing and set up a reserve bank for such emergencies in the community. commu-nity. The hospital authorities were told to use all the blood out of the bank that was needed. Then they asked the bloodmobile to come to Lark when 114 residents responded to the call. |
