Show Services Held Tuesday for Pierson Gray Funeral services for Pierson Ervin Ray Gray 61 were held Tuesday at 1 pm in the Vernal Second Ward chapel Mr Gray died of cancer Sat Sat- Saturday at am in the Vet Vet Vet- Veterans erans hospital HE WAS born March 22 1905 In Columbus Ohio to Harley and Mildred West Gray Ills His parents died while he was a small child and he lived with hIs grandparents He attended school at Franklin Elementary and Wellington High After the death of hIs grandparents he lived with an only uncle George Gray for several years until he married Debris Deloris Smith in 1925 They were divorced later In November of 1942 he was inducted in Ute the Armed Forces and trained at Ft Thomas in Kentucky He served overseas in Central Europe receiving the Eastern Campaign Medal Bronze Service Star Good Conduct Medal Victory and American Campaign Medals lIe He received an honorable dis- dis discharge charge in September of 1945 AFTER HIS discharge he went to California where he be worked for several years lIe He married Iva Carroll July 10 1956 in Salt Lake City They both worked in Hawthorne Nevada and retired in June of 1961 1001 and moved t to Vernal lIe was a member of the LBS Church Survivors his widow widow- three stepdaughter stepsons and a ten ter Karl Paul Mrs Lloyd Claudia Eaton all of Vernal and Nile of American Fork BURIAL was in the Maeser Fairview Cemetery with mill mill- tory tary honors |
