Show 18 JE ti School News Views UVIl hi M lI JIN SCHIOL NEWS CENTRAL SCHOOL Mrs Lemira Days Day's Room A Beautiful Old Tree In Winter Last night was a very foggy night It was also very cold When we came to school the trees were covered with frost There is one old tree at Con Cen School which the children really love t It is the one which always looks the best IUs Itis on the north side of the building by bythe bythe the road In the autumn it is at al ways covered with bright color ed leaves When the leaves fall kids have fun playing in them In the winter the leaves are gone and the branches are brown Then comes the frost to cover the branches with white crystals ASHLEY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL NEWS Miss Anderson Second Grade We are starting a new year We have made some New Year resolutions This year we want to do better school work We are not going to talk to our friends during class We are going to help our family and friends We want to mind our teacher and be kind to everyone We are go ing to do some growing We will willbe willbe be happy this year WHITEROCKS SCHOOL By Gayla Hoopes We have two new students and their names are Jane Thac ker in the grade and Neil Thacker In the 2nd grade and they Midway utah And the first grade is going to have a program this month in inthe inthe the Whiterocks gym Your Reporter Michael Wil son At Whiterocks School we are having baving a snow sculpturing con conn test The he best sculpturing class wins a prize It is fun going out and making things But we have been waiting for it t to get warmS warm er so the snow will pa pack ck Our 2nd Term has Ended The Whiterocks school term has bas ended We will receive our report cards next week It will willbe willbe be our 2nd term We all hope to get good grades We will ill have a record hop One class will receive a prize for forthe forthe the best attendance Each class hopes they will win The first grade won last terms term's attendance contest Reporter Jerry We were happy to be back to school after the holidays Lee North moved to Midway Utah but we have a new boy to take his place Ills His name is Nell Neil Thacker He came from Mid way Utah His father will take the place of Mr North as fore fore- foreman man of the Fish Hatchery In our room we made snowmen and gave them each a name We also made snowflakes On Monday January 11 our school had a contest The grade with the best sculpture ture will win a prize SCHOOL NEWS MAESER SCHOOL Mrs Caldwell Grade 3 Our Chipmunks By Terel Merkley Come to our school room And you will see Our little pet chipmunks We have three Simon Theodore and Alvin Are their names They are always playing Some funny games Two dump ump on the wheel whee And make it twirl While the other one stands And watches it whirl The Snow By Kenny Stewart The snow is falling As it covers the ground Its It's flakes fall on the trees The trees try to hold them But they can not Then they fall to the ground Our Salamander By Susan Caldwell Kenny Stewart brought to our room Sally is a salaman salaman- salamander der Kenny read a report about Salamanders Our Sally hides in inthe inthe the dirt or under her water pan She eats bugs and worms She will eat hamburger if you wig wig- wiggle gle it so she thinks it is alive The Fish By Pama Sue Vernon We have two tanks of f fish in our room I like to watch them One of the fish jumped out of the tank one night In the morn morn- morning ing he was dry and The fish are very good pets One tank Is for big fish the other tank is for baby fish The Maeser Grade has just finished a very interesting unit on basket weaving Each of tile the students were given tile the op to weave a basket from natural raffia When the baskets were finished th ere e r e were many sizes and shapes Some students even used water watercolors watercolors colors to paint bright designs on them The students present ed them to their mothers for a Christmas present Some bas bas- baskets baskets were used for flowers sewing kits and many other things as well as catch all hold ers inch plywood was waa used for forthe forthe the base Holes were drilled through this for the spokes then thena a weaver was started in and out the spokes It surely took a lot lotof lotof of patience and soaking of the raffia but the experience was enjoyed by all |
