july 1 1934 that retired kAred as assistance A stance from the national fad r id cross TT IT e next largest amount was 1706 per cent fot for veterans and their families 5 36 per rent cent to junior rec cross 4 72 pr cent pub public ic health end arid home hy hygiene glene 7 41 per o ont nt first aid and life saving 6 24 insular and foreign eprat operation only 3 78 per cent other activities and 5 81 per cent for supervision ision and gener al ai management th s 5 81 per cent tor for supervision super aldon and maintenance Is the highest overhead the red cross has had for many years this I 1 is due to the expense of the distribution trib ution of the government cotton congress gave us that raw cotton bales of it and anc asked that it bo be given ghen to the poor and reedy needy in the term of clot clatl I 1 es as and bardage but made no to MIA COMI the expense of this ser vice over ight the red cress was the largest cotton manufacture r rs in ohp th work offices we ve e P blushed ta to handle the manulik tur and distribution and this brought up tho pe cent tor for supervision and maintenance to over 5 per cent of the total money spent during last year of course cours this I 1 11 a very small overhead but for se ef en previous vears cars the overhead had ave averaged raged less than 2 per cent the reason it takes such a smal I 1 per cent for supervision and maintenance is because the red choss Is a organization the head officers fire ere volunteers as well as all the county chapter officers there are no big salaries in red cross because all the big people in aed cios
