Show S L jaycees seek nominees for bravery medals governor george D clyde has appointed the salt lake city junior chamber of commerce to assist him in nominating candidates for the national awards ot of young american medais medals tor for bravery and for service to be presented by president dent dwight D eisenhower Elsen hower through the office of At attorney attorney torne general to be eligible for the bravery award for 1858 1950 the first year of the program an applicant must be 18 years old or less and must have exhibited exceptional courage attended by extraordinary decision presence of mind and unusual swiftness of action regardless of his or her own personal safety in an effort to save or in saving the life of any perk per son or persons in immediate danger the young american medal for service Is awarded to a citizen 18 years old or less who has achieved outstanding or unusual recognition tor for character and pervice service during the year 1956 such character and service must have been public in nature and must have been publicly acknowledged now ledged and prominently mentioned by blochl local press radio or television facilities anyone knowing of worthy candidates is urged to contact the salt lake city junior chamber of commerce coerce south main street at once to receive full lull details on the requirements since completed applications must be received by may 25 the jaycee committee cespon sible for screening applications consists of board member jo john hn schofield and chairman cochairman co phi holmes and clarence taylor |
