Show civic business leaders lour 7 our weber basin A group of 37 people from uintah and duchesne county spent last friday on a tour of the weber dasin basin project to get ideas and information on the forming bf a similar project in ulalah basin all ali but seven of the group were from ulalah county the me tour was sponsored by the agricultural committee of the deml chamber of commerce with jack turner and county agent wm farnsworth in charge the caravan left vernal at 6 am and arrived at the wan ship reservoir site at 9 where they were met by weber project and bureau of Re reclamation clema officials who conducted the tour the lead car was equipped with loud lond speaker and the projects were explained as ago stops p were made at manship Wan ship echo reservoir stoddard diversion dam gateway canal weber aqueduct pineview reservoir filtration and the willard reservoir site summer tour the tour ended at the summer home of rulon white near willard where a dinner of barbecue beel beef was served by mr and mrs while white E J FJ elstead project manager of the weber project told the uintah basin group that any service the officers could render in organizing a conservancy district in this area they were will ing to come and give their services lie he said this offer included not only the officers of the weber district but also their attorneys and engineers mr ajel stead ande and E D mckay president accompanied the tour francis warnock project development engineer formerly of vernal clinton wood project manager for the bureau ot of reclamation cla clar alton II 11 peterson resident engineer were also with the group it wis was pointed out that an earth fill dam darn bad had more density than one of concrete and that the earth dam improved with age dam the dam win will be completed in an november and will cost a n little more than two mu million dollars SA it has a storage capacity of acre feet The echo capacity of acre feet feit |
