Show at A A L MOP A y 1 U f 7 S I 1 1 4 mrs annette akhurst marked birthday anniversary on 23 she was guest of honor at an open house and is pictured here with her great great granddaughter ruby ann gentry daughter of mr and mrs charles gentry annette akhurst observes birthday mrs annette akhurst was special guest at an open house last wednesday afternoon in honor of her birthday a anniversary niver sary mrs akhurst is the oldest member of the community congregational ladies aid and other members of the aid were also honored the open house was at the home of mrs D E casada with members of the congregational guild as hostesses mrs casada is president of the guild about 60 friends of mrs akhurst visited with her during the afternoon and wished her many happy returns of the day the hostesses presented her a beautiful corsage of pink carnations which she pinned on her dark green crepe afternoon dress special interest was given to the great great granddaughter who was present the child is the daughter of mr and mrs charles gentry mrs gentry is the former joan richards greeting the guests at the doorak different times during the afternoon were mrs harry gordon mrs verne farmer mrs ani naylor and mrs casada serving was done from a linen covered table with beautiful centerpiece of blue flags and yellow jonquils the birthday cake was also decorated in blue and yellow with 84 in raised figures in the center yellow candles completed the decorative theme pouring and serving was done by mrs adolph johnon rim mrs fred beal mrs larry phillips mrs dave barrett mrs C P and mrs F E dickerson mrs akhurst was born in Wa kenney kansas in irl 1871 and has lived in vernal 40 years she is the mother of three children two of whom are still living mrs gilbert mathews of midvale and william akhurst of vernal she has 6 grandchildren 10 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild |
