| Show ORDINANCE no 1 53 33 ORDINANCE OF VERNAL C erl CITY RELATING TO SEWER SERVICE SECTION 1 BATES RATES 4 regulations mayor and council shall hall from time to time enact by resolutions resolutions regulations prescribing connections charges and rates to be charged for or the use of water and sewer systems 1 inspection spec tion and permit fees and proceed ures rules tor for levying billing Eil illing ling guaranteeing and collect ing ng charges for water and sewer services rules governing over ning the manner of m making a ding connections to the water and fewer sewer systems and material to bo be used and all other rules and regulations necessary for management and control of water and of se sewage w disposal and of the water and sewer department of vernal city SECTION 11 II USE WITHOUT PAYMENT prohibited it shall be unlawful for any person by himself family servants or agents to utilize the city water or sewer system without paying in 9 therefore as herein provided e or br without authority to open any stopcock valve or other fixture attached to the system of water supply or to in any way injure deface or impair any part of appurtenance of the water or sewer system or to cast anything in n to any reservoir or tank belonging to said system SECTION III PAYMENT discontinuance of 91 service the city treasurer shall mall mail a written statement to each user of water or sewer service once each month or such other regular interval as the city council shall direct said statement shall separately specify the amount of the bill for the water and sewer service used and the ilace place of payment and date due if any person falls to pay his water or sewer charges within thirty days of the date billed the city treasurer shall so notify the water and sewer department and shall have authority to direct said department to shut off all water service to the premises rem involved before saix said water service to said premises shall again be provided all delinquent water and sewer charges must have been paid to the city treasurer aurer together with a special a e expense charge the treasurer is herby authorized and empowered to enforce the payment of all delinquent water and sewer charges vernal city will not be liable for or any damages or loss incurred by discontinuing service SECTION IV BOARD OF equalization BATES RATES REBATES the city council is hereby constituted a board of equalization of water and sewer rates and fees to hear bear complaints and make corrections of any assessments deemed to be illegal unequal or unjust they may if they see fit rebate all or any part of the water and sewer bill SECTION V sewer service ch charges or fol es for vernal city shall be as follows lows per month SEWER SERVICE CHARGES single dwelling units multiple dwelling units du alexe and apartment houses lit at 4 units per unit each additional unit 75 all commercial and industrial establishments including hotels and motels are to be charged on the basis of water metered into them first gallons minimum next gallons r s 02 per 1000 gals gal s all over gals per 1000 gals churches hospitals schools county and state public buildings to be charged at the commercial rates with the exception that summer rates would be based e d on winter meter readings in order to eliminate water used for sprinkling lawns sewer charge to be billed in with the water bill vernal cites utilities accountant shall on and between the first and thirtieth day of each and every month bill each and every user of the sewer if payment ay is not made within 15 days after billing the amount I 1 Is s delinquent lin quent after 30 days day from the time of billing the treasurer is to send a second notice that the sewer and water service will be discontinued within 5 d days in the opinion of vernal all city siy C council it is necessary to the peace health and safety of the beace inhabitants I 1 of vernal city that this ordinance become effective immediately upon its first publication li passed by vernal city council this ath day of february AD 1953 ATTEST mayor henry B sr lloyd winward city recorder fa |
