| Show FIRE DANGER EXTREME ON FOREST r BE CAREFUL WITH FIRE HILE F the ashley national forest Is in an explosive condition as a result of 25 rainless days high winds and warm nights have increased the fire hazard considerably all personnel on the ashley national forest have been alerted to the fire danger and are on the alert twenty four hours each day this dozen men however cant do the job alone they must depend upon the active assistance and help from the hundreds who use the forest during these summer bummer months last thursday an unattended fis hermans fire near weyman lakes burned over one fourth acre of heavy timber before being brought under control by an alert forest service trail crew this fire could have been ser serious ious and points up the extreme necessity of extinguishing all tires fires and cigarettes before leaving them when in the fo forest rest follow these rules 1 build camp fires only in a safe place 2 never leave a camp tire fire unattended 3 put out your cigarette before throwing it awa away 4 never smoke y while willie riding horseback or walking 8 5 never throw burning tobacco from a moving vehicle 6 if you discover a fire put it out if you can if you cant control it get word to the nearest forest ranger game warden Ward ert or county sheriff as soon as possible remember only you can prevent forest flies fires |
