Show I 1 young farmers association Is explained during the past few months the veterans agricultural classes at the uintah and alteria high school have organized local chapter chapters chap teg ol 01 the utah young farmer Fan ners association any young man of post high school age in the county who is making an honest effort to become established in farming is eligible tor for in either of these chapter chapters age limit for membership is not under 18 nor over 40 the organization is statewide state wide w with ith chapters in practically every county 1 in utah officers for the state and local organizations a are elected each year the state is divided into areas and directors director are elected fr from each area purposes of the young farmers er s association as taken from the constitution of the local chapters are 1 to aid its members through an educational program in getting established in a farming business of their own 2 to provide wholesale social and recreational activities 3 to give experience in cooperative activities s 4 to provide leadership training opportunities 5 to develop organization consciousness 6 to study agriculture with emphasis m chasis on farming practices a and n marginal procedures 7 to cooperate with all agencies whose objectives are the improvement of the economic educational and social conditions of farm life 8 to render worthwhile worth while community service 9 to further tiie the ideals and practices of american citizenship the organization is not restrictive strict ive or selective in membership there has been some misunderstanding in the past that this is a veterans organization and only tor for veterans this Is not the case however the veterans classes at the high schools have organized the local chapters and invite other young farmers to join |
