Show state engineer offers boundary for counties 1 DOUBTS LEGALITY OP THE bine UPON BY 18 AND SUGGESTS A BOUNDARY FOR TO DEFINE in the controversy between daggett and uintah counties over the I 1 boundary line supposed tb have bays been settled state engineer lloyd garrison suggests in a letter to the aln tah county commissioners under date of august that the word ipg ing to the boundary read as follows j beginning at the point where the meridian of west longitude intersects the summit of the uintah mountains thence easterly i along said summit to tho summit between francis creek and little brush creek thence alone along the sum mit between francis creek on the north and little brush creek diamond pot creek kettle creek and gorge canyon on the south and east to a point on the north line of tap 1 N thence along said line to the NW corner of twp tap I 1 N X R 23 E S IB ID L at thence east 9 miles south 5 miles cast 2 miles south 7 miles east cast 2 miles south 1 miles east east 4 miles to the colorado state line mr garrison also brines brings up the question of the legality ot 0 the ni n i agreement gre ement entered into by the two counties it being probable that the I 1 only power which can flir the bound j ary nry between bAt vreen the two counties is the state legislature the question arose with the state land commissioner and the forest service relative to the boundary line mr garrison has taken his description from the map issued by the forest service of the ashley na lional force forest he suggests the board of commissioners cOmmissio nert of or each county approve this description and then the matter can be taken PO up with the legislature and abe bound ary line correctly defined |
