Show DISPLAYS AT FAIR SUCCESS QUALITY OP OF displays AND EXHIBITS TH SINCE paul FAIR WAS ORGAN ORGANISED 01 rig ATTENDING tho the downpour down pour ot of rain on sunday previous to tho the fair prevented tho early arranging of tho the exhibits at tho the county fair and discouraged anany of at tho the communities from rom a distance getting to the fair at all it looked as though tho the storm had quit when lato late wednesday evening thoro there commenced another downpour down pour of rain min which lasted most of thursday and tha thermometer sal showed temperatures which made winter wraps feel decidedly comfortable by reason of this tho the committee in eluded saturday in the fair program with all theose discouraging features the various community exhibits were by far tho the best beat yet made at any of our fairs there was inore livestock on display but lees less poultry in every way tho the exhibits mado by tho the communities were bettor better than in previous years the exhibit ball 11 although not entirely roly filled was beautiful and artistic in every detail in the center conter cut off from all the balance of the fair was the boys and girls clubs displays in agriculture sewing canning and baking had there boon been no other feature to the fair than this one display it would have been boon worth ahe price of one days admission in foot there was more real merit displayed hero here than in any other section because children had on display just as good articles as an those made and grown by their elders tho the communities exhibiting wore were vernal ward vernal second ashley maeser davis naples and a small display from glines in the east division beeton leeton bennett dennett fort duchesne Du chesno and an indian boad bead display from the west division the judges for the girls sewing baking and canning clubs also for art work in too the east division were miss bliss fern young and miss floy ploy karchner teachers in the home honie economics department in the uintah high school and mrs nt F dow ney of at the home economics department of the willcox academy miss bernice mcneill and mrs H walter continued on age 6 5 column 2 community display at fair continued from page 1 column ono one woolley in tho the west division art work J T A spoor speer paintings joseph welch county agent tor for utah county and harold lundell Lun doll teacher of farm mechanics at the high judges in agriculture and horticulture ti clawson cannon of tho the D Y U for livestock and poultry in artistic arrangement the judges gave first place to vernal second ward a color ef er ret and white to askley ward with a color scheme ek ovalue bauo aad yel low third to naple with a felor ackorne of aad and je yellow ollow booth la in the air fair was arr arrari tang aai at to via win a prize the babett looth booth la in the ike west divisi received favorable faro rable by the judges la in the west leeton received the arat place aad and port fort Duch ducheane eone second la in the bait east diT the points hare have abet yet been counted aad and it Is to slot poo bible 1 at time ot at going to ars to tate which community to Is first A part of the awarding committee te Is alea also absent attending ate he tate state fair the rala rals storms caused the committee to tax overy every resource reso urco to make the sports the very beet best under the trying conditions even with the great handicap of the weather they made things move along smoothly although the racing w was alow oa on account of the wet vet track otherwise every feature of the sports were of the best beat the allen dance was greatly reduced on account of the sierras many f from rom the distant not attempting to corae come through the storms |
