Show commissioners have busy day at meeting awand SANCTIONS IONS WORK RK FOR CONTROL 01 OP P G AND cri AND W WILL AID IN abb ALL WAYS POSSIBLE at the regular meeting of the board of county commissioners last week all members were present W S henderson Honder eoa presented a revised plot of the bartlett addition to the W S hullinger come cemetery tery same was approved by the board joseph marx asked for a refund of back taxes which was refused by the board A representation from the farm bureau and the ashley forest office was present and asked aid in the control of the grasshopper and cricket situation which has become very serious in various sections of the county ranger A A hardy represented the forestry department and A theodore johnson and E peterson county agent the uintah county farm bureau the commissioners sanctioned the sending of a truck to springville Spring ville tor for pounds syrup and poison sufficient to put on a big campaign against the pests they will also aid in all other ways possible they also asked congressman don il colton to ask for aid from washington D C which be he did ashel bingham and asa P D reynolds of alteria were present seeking a contract for the reconstruction of the tha state highway bridge over the uintah river above fort duchesne the commissioners decided to accept no bids but to investigate the condition of th e bridge carson kidd was present and asked what was to be done about the kabell bridge which was again made ad impassable by the high water the commissioners made an investigation trip down to this bridge the county treasurer was ordered to reconstruct the tax record to conform with the minutes order of june juno 10 1916 with references to joseph aliens allens taxes for the year 1916 which mr henderson intended ordered sold it was found a money order for had been in the vault of the county clerk since december 1916 for the payment of these taxes but the proper record of payi payment nent had never been made sheriff L richardson asked for a permanent deputy sheriff to be on permanent pay mr fletcher pletcher moved that no permanent deputy be appointed but pay be allowed only for deputy when services were actually rendered mr taylor seconded and motion passed |
